VW moves to secure cobalt supplies in shift to EVs

Volkswagen is moving to secure supplies of cobalt for up to 10 years from 2019, as the automaker accelerates its ambitious shift to EVs. Cobalt, a byproduct of copper and nickel output, boosts energy density and extends battery life.
